APPLICATION

    The SUVAG II is an auditory training unit for the rehabilitation of hard of hearing subjects and of those with small hearing impairment. From an enormous number of frequency characteristics which can be synthetised with this unit, it is possible to choose the one which is optimal for the hard of hearing subject. With this optimal field the intelligibility of speech is improved and persists even later in unaided listening. Furthermore, the unit is particularly useful in determining and fitting the individual hearing aid.

    As this unit contains all the SUVAG I characteristics, it can also be used as the SUVAG I.


FEATURES

Technically, the SUVAG II is an preamplifier and a power output amplifier with intermediate amplifiers and four sets of filters. Housed in a metal cabinet, the unit comprises six independent modules :

    - The preamplifier with a level conditioner,
    - Two band-pass filters,
    - One low-pass and high-pass filter,
    - One high-pass with low-pass filter,
    - The output power amplifier,

Offering the following possibilities :

    - Input for one or two dynamic or electret microphones or tape recorder.
    - Choice among 22 central frequencies ranging from 80 to 8000 Hz for each of the two band-pass filters, with five selectable band-widths.
    - Low-pass filter with 20 selectable cut-off frequencies from 80 to 6400 Hz with slopes of 0, 20 or 65 dB/oct and a high-pass filter with 30 cut-off frequencies from 8 to 6400 Hz with 0, 6, 12 or 18 dB/oct slopes.
    - High-pass filter with a low-pass incorporated with 7 cut-off frequencies ranging from 2000 to 8000 Hz and slopes 0, 20 or 65 db/oct respectively 0, 6, 12 or 18 dB/oct.
    - Mixing of each set of filters with corresponding attenuators calibrated in dB.
    - 25 W power amplifier. Two outputs are provided for headphone and vibrator with separate control level for each.
    - Mains : 110 V or 220 V AC ; 50 / 60 Hz.- Size : W= 498 mm (9 5/8 in.) – H = 193 mm (7 5/8 in.) – D = 358 mm (11 5/8 in.).
    - Weight : 10 Kg (45,3 ib.).
