APPLICATION

The SUVAG IT 2 is a portable professional unit designed for use in the rehabilitation of the profoundly deaf and severely hearing impaired.

It is a unit for individual rehabilitation to which a set of headphones and a vibrator can be connected.

A small extra distribution box is available for the connection of a second set of headphones and a second vibrator.
The SUVAG IT 2 amplifies and transmits speech frequencies, particularly in the low range, from 2 Hz to 17 kHz.

CHARACTERISTICS

Technically, the SUVAG IT 2 is a power amplifier, connected to its preamplifier. The frequency band extends over more than 13 octaves starting in the infrasonic zone.

Maximum sound pressure at the SEDI CA 100 headphones is around 140 dB.

To protect the transducers (headphones, vibrators), output voltage is limited to a 17 V peak. Further transducer protection is incorporated in the power amplifier to attenuate the effects of any internal failure in the amplifier.

The SUVAG IT2 also has the following characteristics :

- Two inputs for ME 31 electret microphones, with or without harness.
- A low-pass filter with a cut-of frequeny of 600 Hz and 24 dB/oct. slope.
- A level indicator consisting of fous LEDs, three green and one yellow, the yellow LED indicates the limiting level.
- A fifth red LED, beside the yellow one, indicates that current protection is activated, i ;e ; that there is a malfunction in the unit.
- A 6,35 mm jack " OUTPUT " socket for connecting a vibrator or distribution box (BD 3).
- A 6,35 mm jack socket, with a potentiometer for fine adjustment above it, marked " CASQUE " for the connection of one headphone.
- A volume control potentiometer which adjusts both outputs at the same time. The headphone output potentiometer allows the " CASQUE " output level to be reduced with respect to that of the vibrator output.
- Output power : 13 watts for 10 Ohms.
- Luminous mains ON/OFF switch.
- Mains power supply : 220 V ± 10 % ; 50 Hz –60 Hz. ( Other mains voltages available on request).
- Dimensions : Height 90 mm – Width 225 mm – Depth 160 mm.
- Weight : 2,6 Kg.

ACCESSORIES

The same accessories as are available with all the other SUVAG units are also available for use with the SUVAG IT2, notably :

- ME31 electret type microphone, with or without harness.
- SEDI CA 100 mono headphones (50 Ohms impedance).
- Vibrator VIBAR SUVAG R 50 (50 Ohms).
- The distribution box (BD 3) specially made for the IT 2 with 3 outputs for headphones or vibrators, with individual level adjustment, is ideal for working in small groupes of 2 or 3 children.
