PRESENTATION
S.E.D.I. is a joint-stock limited company with a Capital of 253.000 Euros Its main-office is located in Marseilles. The address is 17 Beauvallon Centre, Chemin de Morgiou, 13009 MARSEILLES, France.
Created 50 years ago on June 9, 1961, five employees work for the company.
It has an assembling workshop and offices in Marseilles (210 m2).
The primary purpose of the company was the distribution of new products with an emphasis on the distribution of the SUVAG equipment used in audiophonology. The SUVAG equipment was invented by Professor Peter GUBERINA of the University of ZAGREB. Professor GUBERINA is a phonetist, a linguist, a member of his countrys Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a holder of a Doctorate degree from the Sorbonne University at Paris.
For the celebration of his Doctorate jubilee at the Sorbonne University in 1989, he became an Officer of the French Legion of Honour for his work on French as a foreign language.
Professor René GSELL from the Sorbonne University, Director of a national research laboratory and Secretary of the international Permanent Council of Phonetics Sciences admitted that :
Professor GUBERINA was : " a man of exceptional ability in the areas of phonetics and linguistics ".
About his work, Professor GSELL said : " today, the SUVAG method of Optimal perception is a great classic " (see documents).
S.E.D.I. distributes SUVAG equipment in about twenty countries around the world through dealers (addresses on request). Among these countries, one will notice Spain, Italy, Belgium, Portugal, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Columbia, Brazil, Taïwan, Russia
Furthermore, S.E.D.I. is a supplier for the UNICEF, authorized by the " United Nations Development Program " (U.N.D.P.), a United Nations organization.
On a national level, the company is well-known by public, semi-public, national and departmental organizations.
The SUVAG equipment is found in 80 % of the institutions admitting hearing impaired children in France as well as in Spain.
In 1992, the National Center of Studies and Training for Unadapted Childhood, the only institution of the Department of Education which trains teachers specialized in hearing impaired children, published a 140-page-article on the use of the verbo-tonal method.
A twenty-page-article was written on the SUVAG instruments, their use in speech therapy and in pedagogy, and concluded that " the tuning possibilities are infinite, thus permitting one to face any situation ".
